I wish good farmers would get involved in cracking down on the abusers in their industry. They make all farmers look bad. Because of all the investigations I have seen, I stopped eating meat 3 years ago and seriously considering going vegan altogether. This has caused strife in our family since others like to eat meat. (they are afraid to watch the videos)
If I were a farmer, I would be after the sick abusers and expose them instead of the animal rights groups doing the job.

I understand your reasoning for going vegetarian, but please remember that for every bad farmer their are 999 good ones (my guess).

Have you considered buying meat directly from a farmer that you trust? Supporting good farmers is just as important as not supporting the bad ones.

Incredible – I tried to watch and am pretty sure I missed at least half. These types of facilities should not only be reported, but Shut Down. Employees on our farm, and I'm sure the vast majority of farms, would be Immediately Terminated for abuse Far Less severe than this. I cannot even begin to fathom a business in any livestock industry when their health and care does not come as a priority. Thank you to the honest, hard working livestock owners out there who face each day, knowing the few like these are tarnishing our good names.

Agree. As consumers, we need to vote with our wallets for farmers who raise animals humanely and sustainably. If you can't afford higher price for higher quality, eat less meat. Americans eat more than is healthy for us, as it is.
As consumers and farmers, we all need to fight for MORE transparency, and against the restrictive laws sponsored by those who have things to hide.
And Mike, there may be 999 good farmers for every bad one, but in volume, the CAFO and big ag system is working against the good ones.
The more farmers doing things right speak up, and help your fellow farmers change their ways, the better off we'll all be.

I would like to point out that its not the size of the operation that matters but the management.  I have been to some very small farms that I would never purchase food from, some that I would buy everything they have.  The same goes for large farms, in fact I currently buy my freezer pork from a farm that would be considered a CAFO, but I have also seen the way the farmer cares for his pigs and am glad to support him.

I agree, that if farmers are transparent and open about how they farm most consumers would be happy to buy from them.

It’s the idiots they hired. I hope that someday someone hammers them over the head the same way they treated those small defenseless cows. Farmers should unite and get rid of all these morons that give all farmers a bad name.

I understand that we will always fundamentally disagree on several issues that revolve around agriculture. one of those is the idea that humans should be above eating meat because it is a form of animal abuse. I am not going to argue my point with you as we will never agree on this topic, but I do ask of you not to infringe on my right to consume meat that I know was raised in a respectful manner.

It may be who they hired, but let’s not jump to to many conclusions without full knowledge of what happened there. All I know is I did not like what I saw and feel the same way you do about punishment for those at fault.

I love the video of your playful livestock. After seeing a video of just one CAFO, I immediately stopped buying “big brand” meat, eggs, and dairy. Now I purchase meat direct from our local butcher, organic eggs and dairy. In fact, I do everything in my power to avoid genetically modified produce as well. It changed my life and I’m a better, healthier person for it. For the past year, I have been trying to buy my own farm (only 5 acres, but it’s a start). I am hoping to get there before fall. I will start with chickens and then add a dairy cow (and a veggie garden, of course). It’s an exciting endeavor for me. I know it won’t be easy, but after viewing your video, I know it will be worth it. Thank you for being responsible.
