There are many benefits to living on a farm; one of them includes watching calves nurse, run, jump and play. Today I was watching a newborn calf nurse and felt it would be selfish not to share so I pulled out my cell phone and started recording!
This bull calf has had a rough start as his mother Missy had problems at birth and I had to assist. He also was having problems getting onto nursing, so as you can see I had to tie Missy so she could stand still until I could help him understand how to eat. Like most calves, once they get past their stubbornness and realize were the food is at they go full throttle for the milk! If this little guy keeps it up he will soon have a milk mustache and be asking “Got Milk?”
Enjoy!
